Questions & Answers
The many lost, dormant accounts cause problems for many people. We return the accounts to their rightful owners.
-
When is it advantageous to perform a search? In Switzerland, contributions to the 2nd pillar are made from the age of 25 throughout one’s working life. When changing employers, losing a job, taking a gap year, or emigrating, a compulsory exit from the pension fund often occurs. These funds are paid into different pension funds by each employer. With more than 1,500 pension funds in Switzerland, the search process is very time-consuming.
-
Is the search for funds free of charge? The search for 2nd pillar funds is offered free of charge. Fees are only incurred when we transfer a found fund.
-
What happens after I fill out the form?A search among the approximately 1,500 pension funds will be initiated. You will then need to wait a few weeks (up to 90 days) until you receive a response. After receiving your response, KMO Consulting will handle the transfer of the funds.
-
Is my data secure?Your data is fully encrypted and stored on the secure Swiss servers of Hostpoint AG.
-
Why use KMO Consulting for the search?Compared to searching through the Central Office, we manage your funds after receiving a response, so you don't need to fill out any forms or communicate with each fund individually.
-
What is the Central 2nd Pillar Office? The Central 2nd Pillar Office is the intermediary between occupational pension institutions (also known as the 2nd pillar or BVG) and insured individuals. Its goal is to reconnect insured individuals with institutions when contacts are interrupted. It does not manage accounts or assets of policyholders. This is a government-funded service, and its research is free of charge for applicants.
